DeShazo Group was retained to provide traffic engineering services for the transformational downtown Fort Worth campus of Texas A&M University School of Law. The multi-phase master plan converts underutilized surface parking lots and small buildings into a dense, pedestrian-oriented academic precinct anchored by the new Law & Education Building at the northeast corner of E. Lancaster Avenue and Commerce Street.

🚦 Comprehensive Traffic Impact Analysis
1. Collected peak-hour turning movement counts at 15 key intersections surrounding the downtown campus.
2. Analyzed trip generation, distribution, and assignment for the new Law & Education Building and future phases.
3. Evaluated build-out traffic conditions under multiple campus growth scenarios.
🔄 Site Access & On-Campus Circulation
1. Designed safe, efficient vehicular access from E. Lancaster Avenue and Commerce Street.
2. Developed internal circulation plans to minimize conflicts between vehicles, pedestrians, and future campus buildings.
3. Recommended signal timing and geometric improvements at campus-adjacent intersections.
🚲 Downtown Integration & Multimodal Strategy
1. Coordinated with the City of Fort Worth to ensure seamless integration with downtown street grid and Trinity Railway Express.
2. Emphasized pedestrian-first design with enhanced crosswalks, wide sidewalks, and shaded walkways.
3. Incorporated bicycle facilities and connections to downtown trail network.
